Increasing global competition, rapid change in technology and necessity to respond quickly to a cost and quality conscious consumer have changes the dynamics of facilities planning. Todays manufacturing facility needs to be responsive to the frequent change in product demand while minimizing material handling and machine relocation costs. In this dissertation work as a particle problem a manufacturing plants layout is been taken for the improvement. All the steps for producing a new product has been extensively studied here. Assuming that cells are already composed m/c and in the cell are already located a genetic algorithm based software is been developed for allocating. cell i.e. department into the floor space and the results are comparatively studied obtained from other existing methodsen_US
