Abstract: The experimental investigation have been carried out to study the influence of superimposed longitudinal magnetic field on the mechanical properties, bead geometry and with of heat affected zone. It has been found that the superimposition of the longitudinal magnetic field influences the tensile and impact strength and bead geometry by moderate to appreciable degree depending on the intensity of magnetic field
