The vibrations of a vehicle affect it's ride characteristics. The road surface irregularities induce vibrations of tyre and by suspension system these vibrations are transmitted to vehicle body. So the study of vibration characteristics of tyre is important. The behaviour of tyre is different in non-rolling and rolling conditions and also depends on frequency of vibrations. The four different size of tyres viz 3.50-10, 6 ply Falcon, 3.50-10, 8 ply Falcon, 4.00-8, - 4 ply MRF and 3.50-8, 2 ply Dunlop have been experimentally investigated for static stiffness, rolling dynamic stiffness, damping coefficient and vertical vibration modes. The effects of inflation pressure, normal load and speed on they small size pneumatic tyre and their vertical vibration characteristics have been investigated. An attempt has been made to correlate the experimental results with the results of already established analytical model.en_US
