Authors: Tewari, Manoj Kumar
Keywords: MECHANICAL INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING;COOLING TOWER MODEL;WATER;ENERGY SYSTEM
Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: Water is a precious commodity as such it should be preserved. In the present work literature survey about cooling tower has been carried out, and a computer program has been prepared for design of cooling tower. Different types of cooling towers and their respective applications have been identified. The different design parameter of a cooling tower are evaluated and test results of a cooling tower model are obtianed to verify the mass transfer coefficient. This investigation presents algorithms for the performance of a cooling tower. The algorithm permits calculation of the equipment performance at off design conditions. It will be useful for energy systems analysis to simulate the performance of a cooling tower for various processes and weather conditions. Finally the theoretical investigation of the mathematical simulation has been depicted graphically
