Title: INFLUENCE OF PULSE PARAMETERS ON ARC EFFICIENCY DURING TIG WELDING OF ALUMINIUM AND MILD STEEL

Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: Experimental investigations have been carried out to study the influence of welding parameters in the case of pulse TIG welding of mild steel and aluminium. Heat loss through radiation was collected from the coil around the arc and the heat lost through torch was measured through the water employed for cooling it. The investigations revealed that welding parameters and the material of the work piece have definite influence on the TIG arc efficiency. Higher efficiencies are associated while welding of aluminium as compared to mild steel.
