Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: Experimental investigations have been carried out in the case of cold wire TIG welding to study the influence of welding parameters such as welding current, travel speed and arc gap on weld bead geometry, impact and tensile strength of the weldments. The cold wire feed rates were adjusted to meet the welding rates. It has been found that the depth of penetration, weld width and height of reinforcement are appreciably influenced by the welding parameters. Although the increasing and . decreasing trends have been obtained for ultimate tensile strength, yield strength and impact strength with the welding parameters but the changes are not appreciable in most of the cases
