Title: INFLUENCE OF PULSE PARAMETERS ON TIG ARC EFFICIENCY
Authors: Jain, Sanjay
Keywords: MECHANICAL INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING;PULSE PARAMETERS;TIG ARC EFFICIENCY;L-SHAPED WATER COOLED COPPER BLOCK
Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: Experimental investigations have been carried out to study the influence of various pulse parameters on TIG arc efficiency. L-shaped water cooled copper block has been fabricated and calorimetric set-up has been used for collecting the heat through the flowing water from the copper block for determination of the arc efficiency. From the investigations it has been revealed that different parameters, such as, mean current, pulse current, background current, pulse frequency, arc gap, torch angle and gas flow rate have definite influence on the arc efficiency. Except for gas flow rate, decreasing trend in arc efficiency has been observed with the increase of other pulse/welding parameters
