The work presented in this thesis is an attempt to study the vibrational behaviour c isotropic/non-isotropic non-homogeneous annular plates of uniform/non-uniform thickness. ~ consists of nine chapters. Chapters II and III deal with the isotropic plates while the remainin six chapters deal with orthotropic plates. The chapter I is concerned with an up-to-date survey of the literature on the vibration c plates with complicating effects such as non-homogeneity, orthotropy, thickness variatioi elastic foundation, in-plane force, shear deformation and rotatory inertia. The chapters II and I deal with the axisymmetric vibrations of isotropic annular plates. In these chapters the effect c non-homogeneity, transverse shear and rotatory inertia has been analyzed on the plates uniform and non-uniform thickness respectively. In chapters IV, V and VI, the effect of orthotropy has been investigated on ti axisymmetric vibrations of non-homogeneous annular plates using the classical plate theory. addition to this, the effect of in-plane force without and with elastic foundation has be analysed on the natural frequencies of plates of uniform thickness in chapters IV and V whi chapter VI deals with the axisymmetric vibrations of non-homogeneous polar orthotropic annul plate of variable thickness....en_US
