Several theoritical papers, and some experimental papers, have suggested that the well-known phenomenon of optical activity and circular dichroism, that results from the handedness of certain molecules, may also be observed at micro- and millimeter-wave frequencies by introducing a chiral microstructure (miniature helices) in an ordinary dielectric material, thus improving absorption. In this dissertation work, a brief study of chiral material and preparation of chiral samples (miniature helices), design and preparation of chiral-dielectric slab have been carried out. Further, investigation towards absorption performance of this slab in the frequency range of 8-18 GHz have been carried out, and It was found that the chiral inclusions bring about significant improvement in the performance of the absorber.en_US
