Abstract: | To-dey due to new developments in techn8~logy. materials have acquired high strength, high heat resistance, corrosive resistance and hard to machine properties. The 1conocrd.c machi-ning of such materials is not possible by conventional methods in which metal removal takes place due to plastic deformation and the formation of chip. ElectrOd1enical machining is one of the most commonly used unconventional type of machining method mainly because of its adaptibi li ty to several types of operations. V+ rious versions of deep hole drilling by Electrochemical machining have been described in literature with reference to their appc~ications for various ranges of diameters and depths. In this thesis efforts have been made to investigate the effect of various parameters of Electrochemical machining like voltage, feed, electrolyte head, flow rate etc« on metal x emoval rate and accuracy of hole. The experimental setup to carry out the experimental investigations has been designed, fabricated for sulphuric acid electrolyte. Stainless steel capillary has been taken as drill tool (cathode) . The holes have been carried on stainless steel w orkpieces. The effect of various parameters has been discussed. . , |
