The current rk reports the development of a, theory enabling us to predict the cutting forces in horizontal and vertical milling. The theory employs the shear angle relationship for variable underformed chip thickness cutting. The theoretical results have compared with the experimental values and a good agreement between the theoretical and experimental values has been observed. The forces were measured using a strain gauge type dynamometer as reported by Sabberwal and Koeingnsbergeren_US
