Authors: Bhattacharya, Sribas Chandra
Keywords: MECHANICAL INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING;FABRICATION AND PERFORMANCE-STUDY;HYDROGEN-OXYGEN FUEL CELL;DRILLED ELECTRODE TYPE
Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: The object of the present work was to fabricate a low temperature hydrogen - oxygen fuel cell and study its perfor-mance. Three types of electrode constructions, namely - drilled electrode, progressive porosity electrode and submerged electrode -► have been employed for this purpose. Two cells of drilled electrode type, one of porous electrode type and two cells of submerged electrode type have been fabricated. The perfor~nance of the cells have been studied in terms of voltage versus amperage and wattage versus amperage curves. The effect of operating temperature on performance, the effect exerted by the catalyst and the influence of the elec-trolyte concentration have been investigated.
