The present work summarizes findings of a series of comparative performance tests with indigt-nfous and imported sintered cemented carbide tools. The performance of different tools has been compared by finding the rate of wear land, the cutting forces and cost of production per piece fceerch type of carbide tool. The wear rate has been, m red by the plat's fat- flank swear vs time. The e t of rake angle on the wear rate has also been investigated for all *"brands of tools at different cutting speeds. In order to analyse the production cost per piece of each type of tool, constants of taylortsequation has been determined, nbe' cost' has been considered for different opratioi s,t1 turning, The investigation brings out the fact that carboloy tool material is the best which is followed by the tool materials known by the brand Wimet, Sandvik and Cutkosten_US
