Title: COMPUTER PROGRAMMING FOR THE FLOW PROBLEMS THROUGH CONVERGING DIES
Authors: Jain, Ashish Kumar
Keywords: CONVERGING DIES;COMPUTER PROGRAMMING;FLOW PROBLEMS;METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: The work was necessitated keeping in view the shop floor practice of the metal forming problems. A suitable computer program is developed for the analysis of flow through converging dies. C-programming language and C-graphics are used as the tool to solve the problem. A software could be developed. Results are presented in tabular and graphic forms. Possible variables and their effects on the forming operations are discussed in the light of available theoretical knowledge. A number of . defects of common occurrence in forming practice have been tried- to be related with one or the other of the possible variables. It is observed that with the help of suitable formulation of the problems in the metal forming operations and subsequent utilization of. these for modelling and simulation is not adoptable only in practice rather it can help in obtaining analytical solutions for a number of situations also. iii
