Recovery of zinc from zinc ash is becoming more and more important now a days. because of its vast uses in the field of defence and automobiles. Since scrap zinc can not be used in any field so it is more important to recover the maximum amount of zinc from it. The electrolytic process is extremely successful in the recovery of zinc from zinc ash. In the present set of experiment, I try to find out the most deciding factor in the recovery of zinc from zinc ash. I go for four set of experiments to find out the influence of different factors. The five different parameters which are taken into account for experiments are concentration of ZnSO4, concentrati.on of H2s04, electrode distance, time of electrolysis and current density. But above all these factors, one of the most deciding factor is purity of ZnSO4 solution. Mostly impurity gives negative effects on the rate of deposition of zinc. So high purity of ZnSO4 solution is of prime importance. Concentration of H2SO4 also affects the current efficiency of cathode. Its concentration should not be more than 200 gram/litre. The interpolar distance should be optimum. The more or less value than it affects the rate of deposition and cathode current efficiency. Concentration of ZnSO4 solution should be around 70 gram/litre for best result. At 70 gram/letre, it gives maximum rate of deposition and cathode current efficiency.en_US
