Authors: Kumar, Vivek
Abstract: In this work, we have synthesized various derivatives of “phenothiazine chalcone N-based
heterocycle”. This reaction involves the formation of a C-N bond under transition Metal-free
conditions. Metal-free synthesis of “phenothiazine chalcone N-based heterocycle” by
different derivatives of phenothiazine chalcone and 2-Amino pyridine, iodine, NH4OAc
promoted reaction offers a novel route in the synthesis of “phenothiazine chalcone N-based
heterocycle” in good to excellent yield.

Authors: Vinita
Abstract: In the present study, synthesis of indium sulfide (In2S3) and silver indium sulfide (AgInS2)
nanoparticles was done via thermal decomposition method. The metal sulfide nanoparticles
were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared
spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), field emission scanning electron
microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA), transmission electron
microscopy (TEM) and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The band gaps for indium
sulfide nanoparticles and silver indium sulfide nanoparticles are 2.2 eV and 2.0 eV,
respectively. Dyes such as rhodamine B and methyl orange were successfully photodegraded
using the metal sulfide nanoparticles as catalyst. Adsorption of congo red was also done using
metal sulfide nanoparticles as the adsorbent.

Authors: Kumar, Vineet
Abstract: The method for synthesizing α-diazoketones using sulfonyl azide is described in this dissertation.
Diazoketones have been investigated for almost a century, and the numerous new advancements
published so far show that there is still a lot of intriguing chemistry to be discovered in these
compounds. The fact that they have such a wide range of applications in medical and photometry
was a major factor in their selection of this project. The most appealing application that motivated
us to synthesize α-diazoketones was the cycloaddition reaction of ketene (produced in the thermal
or photochemical reaction of α-diazoketones) with alkenes/alkynes.
